Privacybeleid – Loopmaat
Laatst bijgewerkt: 25 oktober 2026

Privacy Policy – Paceling
Last updated: October 25, 2026
Paceling (Loopmaat in Dutch) is made by Samir Boukari. This policy explains which data the app uses and what happens to it.
In short
- Your data is on your own iPhone and Apple Watch, and in your own private iCloud if you use iCloud.
- We collect nothing: we run no servers, you need no account and we use no tracking, ads or analytics.
- The coach works with Apple Intelligence on your iPhone itself.
- We can't see your data and don't sell or share it with anyone.
Data the app uses
Your profile. Your name, birth year, sex, weight, height, resting and maximum heart rate, your VO2max (with earlier readings), how long you've been running and notes you give the coach, such as an injury. The app uses them to set your heart rate zones, paces and plan.
Your goal and plan. The goal you gave in your own words, the distance, target time and date, and the workouts in your plan.
Your runs. For each run: date, duration, distance, pace, steps, elevation, heart rate (including how it changed), calories, splits, time in each heart rate zone, heart rate recovery, running dynamics if your watch measures them, how it felt and your note, and the coach's report. For outdoor runs, also your route (GPS points). When you import runs from Health, the name of the app you ran them with, your heart rate and your route come along.
iCloud. When you're signed in to iCloud, the app keeps your profile, plan and runs, with heart rate and route, in your own private iCloud database (CloudKit) from Apple. That way you don't lose them on a new iPhone and they stay the same on your devices. Only you have access to this data; we don't. Apple runs iCloud under Apple's privacy policy. Without iCloud, your data stays on your iPhone only.
Apple Watch. Your iPhone and Apple Watch exchange your next workout, your heart rate and VO2max details, your weight, your preferences and your runs directly. This goes over the connection between your own devices, not through us.
Apple Health (HealthKit). Only with your permission:
- The app reads your date of birth (only the year is used), sex, weight, height, resting heart rate, VO2max and the highest heart rate from your workouts in the past year, to fill in and update your profile, heart rate zones and paces.
- The app reads your heart rate variability, sleep and resting heart rate to suggest an easier workout on a tired day. Turn this off with Factor in recovery in Profile → Settings → Coach.
- The app reads your heart rate, distance, steps, active and resting energy, heart rate recovery and running dynamics (power, ground contact time, vertical oscillation and stride length) during and after a workout, to show them live and in your report.
- The app reads your earlier running workouts, with heart rate and route, when you import them in the Log.
- The app writes your runs to Health: the workout with distance, heart rate, steps, active and resting calories (together the total calories in the Fitness app), the blocks of your workout, an effort score (1–10) from your time in each heart rate zone, running dynamics if your watch measures them, and your route for outdoor runs. When your iPhone saves the run itself, the app estimates your resting energy from your profile.
What the app takes from Health into your profile and runs, such as your weight, heart rate and route, is kept with your profile and log, so also in your private iCloud if you use iCloud. Your heart rate variability and sleep are only used on your iPhone to work out your recovery and are not stored in iCloud. Health data is never used for advertising and never shared with third parties. You can revoke access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Paceling.
Location. Only during an outdoor run, and only with your permission. Your iPhone or Apple Watch then measures your distance, pace and route with GPS, also while your screen is locked. Your route is kept with the run and in Health. On the treadmill and outside a workout, the app doesn't use your location.
Maps. To show your route on a map in the report, the app uses Apple Maps. For this, your iPhone loads map data for that area from Apple.
Motion & fitness. During a run with your iPhone, the app counts your steps and measures elevation with your iPhone's motion sensors. Outside a workout, the app doesn't use this data.
Bluetooth. The app uses Bluetooth to find and control FTMS treadmills nearby. From the treadmill it reads speed, incline, distance and, if the treadmill passes it on, your heart rate. To the treadmill it only sends the target speed and incline, and start, pause and stop. The connection log stays on your iPhone unless you share it yourself.
Apple Intelligence. Your plan, the explanation for each workout, the report after your run, the weekly summary and the coach's answers are made by Apple Intelligence, on your iPhone itself. For this the app uses your profile, goal, plan, runs and recovery, only on your device; nothing is sent to us or to any other service. Conversations with the coach are not saved. Without Apple Intelligence, the app uses fixed training rules, also on your iPhone.
Widgets, Live Activity, Siri and Shortcuts. Widgets, the complication on your watch and the Live Activity show your next workout, your week, your goal and the workout in progress; that data stays on your devices. When you ask Siri or a shortcut something, Apple handles that request under Apple's privacy policy. The answer, including the coach's, is made by the app on your iPhone.
Voice coaching. The voice is generated on your device. No text or audio leaves it.
Reminders and notifications. The reminder on training days and the weekly summary are scheduled on your iPhone itself. No data is sent for this.
Sharing. When you share a run as an image, or your treadmill's connection log, you choose the app and the people. The app never shares anything by itself.
Settings. Your running days, reminders, voice coaching, treadmill preferences and other settings are stored on your iPhone.
Deleting your data
- One run: in the Log, swipe it to the left and tap Delete. It disappears from all your devices and from iCloud.
- Everything: in the app, go to Profile → Settings → Data → Erase everything and start over. This erases your profile, plan and log on your iPhone and in iCloud. If you're offline, it happens in iCloud as soon as you're back online.
- On your iPhone and watch: delete the app to remove its data from that device. Your data in iCloud stays; if you want that gone too, use Erase everything first.
- Turning off iCloud: if you don't want sync, turn iCloud off for Paceling in Settings → [your name] → iCloud.
- In Health: runs already saved in the Health app can be deleted there.
- Can't do it? Email tnext@live.nl and we'll help you.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
